my story
I didn't always live near Walt Disney World, so when I moved to Florida from Rhode Island, it's safe to say I steadily ate my way around the theme parks. Combine that with unhealthy habits while I was in college and it lead to one thing - being pretty overweight. I reached 197 pounds, and at only 5'2", I knew I couldn't hit 200 pounds. I had to take control of my life and regain my confidence!
I joined Weight Watchers in December 2015 right after I graduated, and I quickly realized that I had no choice but to learn to successfully navigate the theme parks since I loved going so much. I went to college in Fort Myers, which is also where I had my first job out of school for two years, so that meant two things: packing meals to bring to the parks and researching the menus at Disney until I went cross-eyed.
Weight Watchers, for those of you who aren't familiar with their app, has a feature called Connect. Think of it as Instagram but for WW members! People knew I went to Disney often, so I'd often be asked questions about how I navigated the parks on my journey to losing 75 pounds. After a while, I got tired of writing paragraph after paragraph over and over again... and I figured, why not just send people to a link where all this information can live? And thus, this blog was born!
